Women's soccer team defeats Dominican (Ill.), 3-0, for second straight win
The Olivet College women's soccer team defeated Dominican (Ill.) University, 3-0, this afternoon in River Forest, Illinois. With the win, the Lady Comets have opened their 2004 season with a 2-0 record.

Olivet held a 1-0 lead at halftime after freshman Anna Mueller (Battle Creek Pennfield High School) scored an unassisted goal at the 26:59 mark. The Comets stretched their lead to 2-0 on a goal in the 56th minute by sophomore Stacey Stickney (St. Joseph High School), which was assisted by sophomore Heather Wolf (Marshall) and freshman Natalie Lopez (Holland West Ottawa High School). Freshman Shannah Fisher (Delton Kellogg High School) closed the scoring with another unassisted goal with about seven minutes left in the game.
Olivet outshot the Stars, 19-9, with freshman Lindsay Bialas (Vicksburg) receiving credit for five shots. Fisher, Mueller and Stickney had three shots apiece. Sophomore goalkeeper Dani Jacobs (Suttons Bay High School) played the entire game and made six saves.
The Comets are idle until next Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 11-12, when they co-host a tournament with Albion College. The Saturday games will be at Albion and the Sunday games will be at Olivet. The Saturday games feature Olivet vs. Manchester (Ind.) College at 2 p.m. and Otterbein (Ohio) College vs. Albion at 4 p.m. The Sunday games showcase Albion vs. Manchester at 1 p.m. and Otterbein vs. Olivet at 3 p.m.
