The Olivet College women’s soccer team was shutout by Denison (Ohio) University, 6-0, in its season-opener today at the Ohio Wesleyan University/Big Red Invitational in Delaware, Ohio.

The Olivet College women's soccer team was shutout by Denison (Ohio) University, 6-0, in its season-opener today at the Ohio Wesleyan University/Big Red Invitational in Delaware, Ohio. The Comets (0-1) will play the host Bishops tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
Denison scored its first three goals off corner kicks in a span of seven minutes in the first half. At halftime, the Big Red held a 4-0 lead. Denison added two more goals in the second half. Playing in her first collegiate game, freshman goalkeeper Shane Brady (Battle Creek/Central) faced 29 shots, including 17 on-goal, and made 17 saves.
Following tomorrow's game, Olivet will be idle until next Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 9-10, when it co-hosts a tournament with Alma College. On Saturday, the Comets host LaRoche (Pa.) College at noon, and on Sunday, they host Rowan (N.J.) College at noon.
