Julian scored the first goal just 3:03 into the game, with sophomore Cara Underwood (Holland) receiving credit for the assist. In the ninth minute, senior Nicole Babcock (Three Rivers) put the Comets up 2-0 when she knocked in a rebound shot by senior Megan Reardon (Macomb/Chippewa Valley).
Julian tallied her second goal of the game and team-leading eighth of the season on a breakaway up the middle of the field in the 26th minute. Freshman Faith Hatt (Rochester Hills/Rochester earned the assist. The score remained 3-0 at halftime.
Olivet scored its fourth goal in the 21st minute of the second half. Senior Cori Barrera (East Lansing) put her head on the ball after sophomore Christine Moulton (Royal Oak/Shrine) sent a pass in her direction.
The Comets finished the game with a 12-8 advantage in shots. Julian topped Olivet with five shots, four on-goal. Sophomore Sarah Westen (Grand Ledge) played the entire game in goal and made four saves.
The Comets will close out the non-league portion of its schedule Wednesday, Sept. 24, when they travel to play Rochester College. The game will be played indoors at the Ultimate Soccer Arena in Pontiac at 4 p.m.
