The Olivet College women's soccer team fell to Kalamazoo College, 4-1, today at Mackenzie Field in Kalamazoo.
Kalamazoo scored three times in the first half, including two in a span of six minutes. Olivet put a goal on the scoreboard in the 61st minute. Junior Ashley Buyce (Portage/Central) dented the back of the net. Senior Katie Koralewski (Sterling Heights/Stevenson) and freshman Rebecca Gaarde (Parma/Western) were each credited with an assist. The Hornets made it a three-goal game with a goal in the 81st minute.
The Comets had eight shots, including half by Gaarde. Three of her shots were on-goal. Junior Leanne Scudder (St. Joseph/Lakeshore) made her first start of the season in goal and made two saves.
Olivet travels to play MIAA-rival Albion College Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m.
