The Olivet College women’s soccer team was defeated by Grace (Ind.) College, 2-1, today in a second round game of the Jennifer L. Siersma Memorial Classic at Trine (Ind.) University.

The Olivet College women's soccer team was defeated by Grace (Ind.) College, 2-1, today in a second round game of the Jennifer L. Siersma Memorial Classic at Trine (Ind.) University.
Grace led 1-0 at halftime behind a goal in the 18th minute. The Comets knotted the score at 1-1 at the 59:55 mark on a goal by sophomore Lizzy Julian (Mattawan). The Lancers took a 2-1 lead with a goal in the 63rd minute.
For the game, Olivet had 11 shots, including four by Julian. Junior keeper Sarah Westen (Grand Ledge) faced 21 shots and made 16 saves.
The Comets return to the field next Friday and Saturday, Sept. 11-12, at the John Carroll (Ohio) University Classic. Olivet will play Case Western Reserve (Ohio) University Friday at 3 p.m., and Grove City (Pa.) College Saturday at noon.
