Women’s soccer team ties Grove City, 1-1
The Olivet College women’s soccer team battled to a 1-1 double overtime draw against Grove City (Pa.) College in the second round of the John Carroll University Classic in University Heights, Ohio. For their efforts this weekend, juniors Megan Colby (Sparta/Cedar Springs) and Cara Underwood (Holland) were named to the all-tournament team.

For their efforts this weekend, juniors Megan Colby (Sparta/Cedar Springs) and Cara Underwood (Holland) were named to the all-tournament team.
The Comets got on the scoreboard first at the 21:01 mark when sophomore Lizzy Julian (Mattawan) found the back of the net. Senior Katie Koralewski (Sterling Heights/Stevenson) and freshman Tara Leach (Clinton Twp./Chippewa Valley) were each credited with an assist on the goal. Grove City countered with the game-tying goal just one minute, 32 seconds later.
For the game, the Tigers out-shot the Comets, 51-14. Spiteri had five shots. Colby played all 110 minutes in goal and made 31 saves.
Olivet will host three non-conference games next week, beginning Wednesday against Manchester (Ind.) College at 4 p.m.
