The Olivet College women’s soccer team fell to University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, 3-2, Sunday in a second round game of the Alma-Olivet Soccer Classic at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

The Olivet College women's soccer team fell to University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, 3-2, Sunday in a second round game of the Alma-Olivet Soccer Classic at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
The Warhawks struck quickly with a goal just 16 seconds into the game. They added to their lead with a goal in the 17th minute. The Comets cut their deficit to 2-1 when sophomore Lizzy Julian (Mattawan) converted a penalty kick goal in the 39th minute. Olivet tied the game with 22:17 left in the game when junior Katie Koralewski (Sterling Heights/Stevenson) found the back of the net off a pass from junior Sarah Westen (Grand Ledge). Whitewater scored the game-winner in the 76th minute.
The Warhawks had a 14-5 edge in shots, with Julian recording three shots for the Comets. In goal, junior Sarah Westen (Sparta/Cedar Springs) collected five saves.
Junior Ashley Buyce (Portage/Central) and sophomore Danielle Mellor (Macomb/Regina) were named to the all-tournament team.
Olivet will participate in the Saint Mary's (Ind.) College Fall Classic Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25-26. The Comets will play Marian (Ind.) College Friday at 3 p.m., and Bethel (Ind.) College Saturday at noon.
