Women’s soccer team shutout by Marian, 3-0
The Olivet College women’s soccer team was shutout by Marian (Ind.) University, 3-0, today in a first round game of the Saint Mary’s (Ind.) College Fall Classic. In tomorrow’s second round game, Olivet will play Bethel (Ind.) College at noon. The host Belles defeated Bethel, 2-1, in the other first round game.

Marian scored two goals in a span of just under three minutes of the first half. The Knights closed the scoring with a goal in the final two minutes.
The Comets finished the game with just eight shots, including two each for three different players. Both shots for sophomore Lizzy Julian (Mattawan) were on-goal. Junior Megan Colby (Sparta/Cedar Springs) was saddled with the loss in goal. She made 10 saves, while facing 24 shots.
Following tomorrow's game, Olivet will be idle until next Saturday, Oct. 3, when it travels to Grand Rapids to play Calvin College to open Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play. Game time is noon.
