The Olivet College women's soccer team defeated Bethel (Ind.) College, 1-0, today in the second round of the Saint Mary's College Fall Classic.
Olivet got on the scoreboard just 2:50 into the game. The Pilots turned the ball over deep in the zone. Sophomore Sam Spiteri (St. Clair Shores/Lake Shore) received a pass from sophomore Lizzy Julian (Mattawan) and buried a shot into the goal.
The Comets were out-shot 10-5. Julian had two of the five shots. In goal, junior Megan Colby (Sparta/Cedar Springs) played the entire game in goal and did not have to make a save.
Olivet is now idle until next Saturday, Oct. 3, when it travels to Grand Rapids to play Calvin College. Game time is noon.
