OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's soccer team was shutout by Adrian College, 3-0, today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
Sam Barker scored her league leading 11th goal of the season for the Bulldogs with 12:13 left before halftime. The score stayed 1-0 at the break. Adrian stretched its lead when Lauren Cozzi found the back of the net just one minute and 47 seconds into the second half. Carmina Lizyness capped the scoring with an unassisted tally in the 85th minute.
The Comets finished the game with seven shots, including two by freshman forward Katie Murphy (Berkley). Five others each had one shot. Freshman Patty Groh (Mason) played all 90 minutes in goal, facing 16 shots and collecting five saves.
Olivet will wrap-up a five-game homestand with two more home games this week. On Thursday, they host Trine (Ind.) University at 4 p.m., and on Saturday, Saint Mary's (Ind.) College visits the Cutler Athletic Complex for a noon game.
