Women’s soccer team ties Adrian, 1-1, in MIAA-opener

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Olivet College women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 double overtime tie against Adrian College in its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opener tonight at Docking Stadium in Adrian.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Bulldogs took the early lead on a goal on a free kick from 25 yards out in the 13th minute.
  • Sophomore Emma Essen tied the game for the Comets with 11 seconds remaining before halftime.
  • Both teams had chances to score the go-ahead goal in both the second half and the overtime periods.
