Women's swimming and diving team defeats Hillsdale
The Olivet College women's swimming and diving team defeated Hillsdale College, 125-106, in a non-league dual meet at the Upton Center Pool in Olivet. It is the first-ever women's dual meet victory in school history.

Hillsdale does not have a men's team; therefore, the scores and times for the Olivet men are being treated as exhibition.
Leading the way for the Lady Comets was freshman diver Kristin Bloomquist (Holt High School), who won both the one-meter and three-meter events. In the three-meter, she broke the school record with 215.35 points. In the one-meter, Bloomquist had 205.05 points.
Also winning for Olivet was senior Shannon McHugh (Manistique High School) and freshman Janet Stam (Holland High School). McHugh captured the 100 breastroke with a pool record time of 1:10.65. Stam won the 200 freestyle with a time 2:02.15. Despite a second-place place finish in the 100 free, Stam broke the school record with a time of 55.92 seconds.
Stam along with first-year swimmers Catlin Cornell (Corunna High School), Laura Herzog (St. Joseph High School) and Ashlee Hoefling (Mason High School) finished in first-place in the 200 free relay with a school record breaking time of 1:45.03.
