Women's swimming and diving team splits double dual with Ohio Northern and Hillsdale
The Olivet College women’s swimming and diving team spilt a double dual meet at Hillsdale College this afternoon. The Lady Comets fell to the host Chargers, 63-45, and defeated Ohio Northern University, 83-28.

Sophomore Kristin Bloomquist (Holt) was the only double winner for Olivet. She won the one- and three-meter dives with scores of 223.30 and 173.15, respectively.
Sophomores Laura Herzog (St. Joseph) and Ashley Zaborski (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) and first-year swimmers Sarah Boyd (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon) and Carrie Schroeder (Marshall) captured first-place in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:58.51.
Olivet had a swimmer finish in second-place in seven of the other 10 events. Boyd was second in the 500 freestyle (5:36.65) and 1,000 freestyle (11:28.46). Sophomore Katherine Roesch (Oakland Twp./Lake Orion) had second-place finishes in the 200 freestyle (2:03.99) and 200 backstroke (2:17.80).
Other second-place finishes were by freshman Katie Kilmartin (Wayland) in the 200 breaststroke (2:37.80), junior Jill Lingbeek (Plainwell) in the 50 free (25.42), Courtney Mich (Bay City/Western) in the one-meter dive (191.30) and sophomore Janet Stam (Holland) in the 100 freestyle (57.78).
The 400 medley relay team Kilmartin, Lingbeek, Roesch and Stam was second with a time of 4:17.38.
Olivet next competes at the annual Wabash College Invitational Friday and Saturday, Nov. 19-20, in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
