Women’s swimming and diving team falls to Albion, 185-164
The Olivet College women’s swimming and diving team was defeated by Albion College, 185-164, to end the dual meet portion of its schedule today at the Dean Aquatic Center in Albion.

Olivet took first-place in seven events. Sophomore Caitlin Lohr (Holland/Hamilton) swept the sprint freestyle events, winning the 50 in 25.58 seconds and the 100 in 57.70 seconds. Freshman Crystal Jager (Dorr/Hamilton) won the 100 breaststroke (1:10.80) and 200 individual medley (2:22.27). She lost the 200 breaststroke by .09 seconds, 2:35.88-2:35.95.
Freshman Erica Schlabach (Goshen, Ind./Northridge) brought home a first-place finish in the 100 butterfly (1:03.68). Sophomore Megan Waschak (Battle Creek/Central) edged Albion's Emily Magyar by ½ point in the one-meter diving competition with 237.90 points. The 200 freestyle relay team of Lohr, sophomore Jessica Howard (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead), Schlabach and freshman Jana Blodgett (Sturgis) finished first in 1:44.26.
The Comets will be back in the pool Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 11-13, at the MIAA Championships at Calvin College.
