Women's swim team competes at Ed Kennedy Memorial Meet
The women's swimming team were eighth overall and sixth among 10 NCAA D2 and D3 schools today at the Ed Kennedy Memorial Meet at the International Swimming Hall of Fame Pool in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The Olivet College women's swimming team were eighth overall and sixth among 10 NCAA D2 and D3 schools today at the Ed Kennedy Memorial Meet at the International Swimming Hall of Fame Pool in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The top finish was turned in by the 400 freestyle relay team of Caitlin Lohr (Holland/Hamilton), Jessica Howard (Fort Wayne, Ind,/Homestead), Kristin Long (Pemberville, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy) and Ally Ramer (Holt), who placed fourth in 4:33.06. The 200 freestyle team of Lohr, Ramer, Emily LaPorta (Hamilton) and Jana Blodgett (Sturgis) and 150 backstroke team of Jacalyn Cordero (Holland), Alivia Hammond (Byron Center) and Crystal Jager (Dorr/Hamilton), finished in fifth place at 2:01.94 and 1:48.24, respectively.
Placing sixth was the 200 medley team Howard, Jager, Cordero and Chelsea Mullins (Macomb/L'Anse Creuse),in 2:22.24. The 150 butterfly trio Camieo Green (Battle Creek/Harper Creek), Britnee Jackson (Sturgis) and Jennie Plamondon (Flushing) placed eighth at 1:49.62.
The Comet women return to action Saturday, Jan. 15, at Saint Mary's (Ind.) College at 1 p.m.
