Women’s swimming team loses three duals
The Olivet College women’s swimming team lost three duals in a triple dual meet at Lakeview High School in Battle Creek. The Comets fell to Carthage (Wis.) College, 226-88; Albion College, 168-163; and Hope College, 225-112. In the dual against Albion, Olivet outscored the Britons by 20 points, 97-77, in today’s 10 events.

College, 226-88; Albion College, 168-163; and Hope College, 225-112. In the dual against Albion, Olivet outscored the Britons by 20 points, 97-77, in today's 10 events.
Leading the way for the Comets was senior Caitlin Lohr (Holland/Hamilton) who won the 50 freestyle in 24.22 seconds. She also swam the anchor leg of the third-place 400 freestyle relay and the butterfly leg of the fourth-place 200 medley relay.
Swimming with her on the freestyle relay were freshmen Jazmin Johnson (Grand Rapids/Northview), Kaitlin Smith (Port Huron) and Shana Bush (Alma), and their time was 3:48.63. The 200 medley relay was Lohr, Smith, Johnson and sophomore Kristin Long (Pemberville, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy), and they finished in 1:57.35.
Bush also placed third in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:23.52. Smith was third in the 100 backstroke in 1:05.05. Senior Jessica Howard (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) finished in fourth-place in the 200 freestyle (2:04.82).
Olivet returns to the pool Friday, Nov. 11, for a double dual meet at Hillsdale College. The Comets will swim against the host Chargers and Ohio Northern University. Action starts at 6 p.m.
