UOlivet loses double dual at Franklin

FRANKLIN, Ind. – The University of Olivet men's and women's swimming teams dropped both ends of a double dual meet against Franklin (Ind.) College and Anderson (Ind.) University today at the Franklin Middle School Pool.

THE BASICS

• Women's Final Scores: Franklin 251, Olivet 21; Anderson 171, Olivet 49
• Men's Final Scores: Franklin 228, Olivet 17; Anderson 126, Olivet 38

FOR THE COMET WOMEN

• Junior Sophia Spahr finished second in the 200-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 2:12.73. The time was also less 1/2 second off her personal best. She also placed third in the 100-yard butterfly with a personal-best time of 1:14.56.
• Sophomore Bethany Stowell was third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:17.86) and 50-yard backstroke (31.52).

FOR THE COMET MEN

• Senior Matthew Brown finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.32).
• Sophomore Erick Horne placed third in the 200-yard freestyle in a personal-best time of 2:08.64.
• Freshman Efrem Masterson was fourth in the 500-yard freestyle (5:18.32).

UP NEXT

• The Comets travel to Florida for their winter training trip later this month. The next competition date is Saturday, January 10, at Albion College for a double dual against the Britons and Hillsdale College.
