The Lady Comets swept the three doubles matches. At No. 1, sophomores Mallory Bailey (Kalamazoo/Loy Norrix) and Rachel Vilums (Hudsonville) won 8-3. Sophomore Danielle Post (Marshall) and freshman Stephanie Pott (Kalamazoo/ Mattawan) picked-up an 8-4 win at No. 2. At No. 3, freshmen Lacey Ferro (Jonesville) and Abbie Utberg (Commerce Twp./Walled Lake Central) won by forfeit at No. 3.
In singles action, Olivet had three straight set victories at No. 3, 4 and 5. At No. 1, Vilums dropped the first set, 6-4 and rebounded to win the last two sets, 6-2 and 10-8. At #3, sophomore Lindsey Struble (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) did not give up a game for an easy 6-0, 6-0 win. Sophomore Jaime Morrison (Marshall) and Utberg had identical 6-1, 6-0 victories at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively. Freshman Kelli Roe (Galesburg/Augusta) won by forfeit at No. 6.
The Comets continue their Spring Break trip with a 2 p.m. match tomorrow against Ashland (Ohio) University.
