Women’s tennis team defeats Huntington (Ind.), 8-1
The women's tennis team won five-of-six singles matches and swept the three doubles matches to defeat non-conference foe Huntington (Ind.) College, 8-1, this evening at the Michigan State University Tennis Facility in East Lansing. With the win, the Lady Comets now have a 5-3 overall record.

Winning in singles play were sophomore Rachel Vilums (Hudsonville) at No.1 (6-1, 6-1), sophomore Corey Jager (Kalamazoo/Loy Norrix) at No. 3 (6-2, 6-3), sophomore Lindsey Struble (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) at No. 4 (7-5, 6-2), sophomore Jaime Morrison (Marshall) at No. 5 (6-2, 6-2) and freshman Abbie Utberg (Commerce Twp./Walled Lake Central) at No. 6 (6-0, 6-3).
In doubles, the No. 1 tandem of Vilums and sophomore Mallory Bailey (Kalamazoo/Loy Norrix) won 8-4, the No. 2 duo of Jager and Struble picked-up an 8-4 win and the No. 3 tandem of sophomore Danielle Post (Marshall) and freshman Stephanie Pott (Kalamazoo/Mattawan) won 8-5.
Olivet travels to play Saint Mary's (Ind.) College tomorrow in its 2005 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association-opener at 3 p.m.
