Women's tennis team participates in 2005 Wilson-ITA Central Regional
For the first time in school history, the Olivet College women’s tennis team had players participate in the Wilson-Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Regional Tournament. The 2005 ITA Regional was Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.

Competing in singles play for Olivet was junior Rachel Vilums (Hudsonville) and freshman Jaclyn Mummaw (Buchannon). Vilums won her first match 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 over Bianca Barr from Oberlin (Ohio) College. Annie Miller from University of Chicago (Ill.) defeated Vilums 6-3, 6-2. Mummaw lost her two matches.
In doubles play, Vilums teamed with junior Mallory Bailey (Kalamazoo/Loy Norrix) and had a 1-2 record. The duo's win was 8-2 over Amanda Goumas-Becky Thomson from Kalamazoo College. Olivet's other doubles team of juniors Corey Jager (Kalamazoo/Loy Norrix) and Lindsey Struble (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) dropped both their matches.
