Women’s tennis team loses to Spring Arbor, 5-4
The Olivet College women's tennis team swept the three doubles matches but won only one singles match in a 5-4 loss to Spring Arbor University this afternoon in Spring Arbor.
The Olivet College women's tennis team swept the three doubles matches but won only one singles match in a 5-4 loss to Spring Arbor University this afternoon in Spring Arbor.
In doubles, the No. 1 team of freshman Jaclyn Mummaw (Buchanan) and junior Rachel Vilums (Hudsonville) and the No. 3 team of junior Jaime Morrison (Marshall) and sophomore Abbie Utberg (Commerce Twp./Walled Lake Central) each won an 8-6 pro-set match. The No. 2 team of juniors Corey Jager (Kalamazoo/Loy Norrix) and Lindsay Struble (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) picked-up an 8-5 pro-set victory.
In singles, Mummaw was the lone winner at the No. 3 flight. She won in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-4.
Olivet hosts Alma College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association match Wednesday, April 12. Action from the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility begins at 4 p.m.
