Women’s tennis team finishes in second-place at Tri-State Doubles Classic
The Olivet College women’s tennis team finished in second-place today at the Tri-State (Ind.) University Doubles Classic, which was played indoors at the Minges Creek Athletic Club in Battle Creek. The round-robin classic featured four doubles teams from each of the four participating schools.

The Comets had an 8-4 record, while Aquinas College was first with an 11-1 mark. Tri-State was third with four wins, followed by Adrian with one win. For the Comets, the No. 4 duo of sophomore Kristina Mellinger (Constantine)-senior Jaime Morrison (Marshall) posted a 3-0 record.
Olivet's No. 2 duo of sophomore Jaclyn Mummaw (Buchanan)-junior Abbie Utberg (Commerce Twp./Walled Lake Central) and No. 3 duo of seniors Corey Jager (Kalamazoo/Loy Norrix)-Lindsey Struble (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) each had a 2-1 record. The No. 1 duo of seniors Mallory Bailey (Kalamazoo/Loy Norrix)-Rachel Vilums (Hudsonville) won one match.
The Comets are back in action Tuesday afternoon when they play at Saint Mary's (Ind.) College at 3 p.m.
