Women's tennis team opens season with second-place finish at Comet Doubles Classic

The Olivet College women's tennis team opened the 2010 season today by hosting the Comet Doubles Classic at Minges Creek Athletic Club in Battle Creek
University of Northwestern Ohio won the team championship with 11 points, followed by the Comets with five points. Davenport University and University of Saint Francis (Ind.) tied for third-place with four points apiece.
Olivet received two points from its No. 1 team of Giana Guerra (Lansing/Waverly) and Caitlin LaValley (Battle Creek/Pennfield). Each of the other doubles teams earned one point.
The Comets will return to action next week for their annual spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C. While in Hilton Head, they will play four matches, beginning Monday, March 8, against Juniata (Pa.) College.
