BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Olivet College women's tennis team opened its spring schedule with a 5-4 win over Indiana Institute of Technology this afternoon at the Minges Creek Athletic Club in Battle Creek.
The Warriors had only five players, so the Comets picked-up default wins at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles to go up 2-0 at the start of the match. Olivet picked-up a team point at the No. 1 doubles slot where sophomore Maddy Drikakis and freshman Rachael Hager came from behind to win an 8-4 pro-set.
The Comets won the match with two wins in singles play. At the No. 5 position, junior Isabel Snyder lost only one game to win 6-1, 6-0. Sophomore BreAnne Rudlaff cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the No. 4 position.
Olivet is now off until March 6-11 for its Spring Break trip to Hilton Head, S.C.
