Women’s tennis team opens season with 7-0 loss at Cornerstone

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College women's tennis team opened the 2020-21 season with a 7-0 loss to Cornerstone University this afternoon at NorthPointe Christian School in Grand Rapids.

Records: Olivet 0-1 overall, Cornerstone 0-1 overall
- With Cornerstone being an NAIA school, the NAIA scoring rules for tennis were applied. The school who wins two or three doubles flights gains one team point.
- The Golden Eagles earned wins in all three doubles flights today to pick-up one team point.
- Cornerstone then won all six singles flights for the 7-0 victory.
- The only Olivet to player to win more than one game was junior Desiree Luque Pradas who lost 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.
- Olivet hosts Concordia University-Ann Arbor next Saturday, September 12. First serve from the Marshall High School Tennis Courts is 12 p.m.
