Fremeau Breaks UOlivet Record and Coggins Sets Two Top 10 Marks

HILLSDALE, Mich. – The University of Olivet indoor track and field teams competed at the Hillsdale College Tune-Up on Saturday, February 21.
For the men, junior Owen Fremeau won the shot put with a school-record throw of 57 feet, 11-3/4 inches. The performance moves him up to fifth on the NCAA Division III Performance List. Fremeau also finished fourth in the weight throw (59 feet, 7 inches).
Freshman Aiden Coggins achieved UOlivet all-time top 10 mark in the long jump – seventh at 21 feet, 2 inches) and tied for ninth in the 60-meter dash at 7.16 seconds. Sophomore Yrral Campbell threw a personal best in the weight throw (50 feet, 6-1/4 inches). Freshman Dom Monroe had a personal best in the shot put (36 feet) and weight throw (38 feet, 11-1/2 inches).
Senior Charles Goldman ran a personal best in the 60-meter dash (7.76). Juniors Joe Kadluboski and Sam Bruinsma each posted personal bests in the 800-meter run with times of 2:08.09 and 2:15.27, respectively. Sophomore Luke Senters completed the mile in a season best time (5:00.51).
The 4x400 meter relay team of Luke Leighton, Dontal Wright, Kadluboski and Sam Bruinsma won the race with a time of 3:43.33.
For the women, sophomore Brooke Jankwietz threw a personal best in the weight throw (40 feet, 3-1/4 inches). Freshman Allison Stauffer posted a personal best in the shot put (25 feet, 7-1/4 inches).
Junior Aubrey Connelly ran a season best in the 400-meter dash (1:04.09) Freshman Abby Dice finished second in the mile (6:19.64).
The Comets are back in action next Friday and Saturday, February 27-28, at the Michigan Indoor Track and Field Championships presented by Collegiate Credit Union. Trine University is the host school.
