Volleyball team loses to MIAA-rival Albion in three sets

The Olivet College volleyball team was defeated by Albion College in three sets (25-17, 25-16, 25-21) today in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) match inside Kresge Gymnasium in Albion.

Senior Kim Travis (Shepherd) led Olivet with 10 kills. Freshman Sam Gibson (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) was next with six. Junior Jenessa Hicks (Union City) and sophomore Mallory Schug (Climax/Galesburg-Augusta) recorded team-highs in set assists (16) and digs (13), respectively.

Olivet will wrap-up the regular season portion of its schedule next with four matches, including three against MIAA foes. On Wednesday, the Comets host Kalamazoo College at 7 p.m., on Friday, they travel to play Calvin College at 4 p.m., and on Saturday, they host Trine (Ind.) University at 11 a.m. Also, on Friday at Calvin, Olivet will play Manchester (Ind.) College at 6 p.m.
