Olivet defeated by Siena Heights in three sets

ADRIAN, Mich. – The University of Olivet women's volleyball team fell to Siena Heights University in three sets tonight at the SHU Fieldhouse.
THE BASICS
- Final Score: Siena Heights defeated Olivet 25-22, 25-22, 25-18
- Location: SHU Fieldhouse; Adrian, Michigan
- Records: Olivet 13-8 overall, Siena Heights 14-4 overall
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first set, the Saints held a six-point lead at 14-8. The Comets fought back with a 7-1 run to tie the score, 15-15. Siena Heights answered with three straight points before a 5-0 Olivet run made the score 20-18. The Saints responded with a 4-0 spurt to take the lead back 22-20. The Comets scored the next point but did not get any closer, as Siena Heights won the set 25-22.
- In the second set, the Comets led by six points on several occasions. Olivet maintained the advantage all the way to a 22-21 score. The Saints put the final four points on the scoreboard to win the set 25-22.
- Down 2-1 in the third set, Siena Heights scored three straight points and never trailed for the remainder of the set.
FOR THE COMETS
- Senior Abi Nunez had a match-high 16 kills.
- Senior Hayleah McFadden tallied nine kills.
- Sophomore Grace Grew and senior Madison Johnson split time at setter and recorded 17 and 12 assists, respectively.
- Junior Jaydn Cary collected a match-best 13 digs.
UP NEXT
- Olivet resumes conference play next Saturday, October 19, at home against Alma College at 1 p.m. Prior to the match, the Comets will honor their seniors.
