Cross country teams run at the Lebanon Valley (Pa.) Invitational
The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams ran today at the Lebanon Valley College Invitational in Annville, Pa.
The men's team finished in eighth place (out of 17 teams). Leading the way was sophomore Jeremy Shephard (Kalamazoo/Mattawan High School), who finished 24th (out of 188 runners). He completed the 8,050-meter course in 27:40.91. Joining him in the top 75 were sophomore Andrew Lapham (South Lyon High School) in 46th-place (28:20.18), junior Robert Dodson (Elsie/Ovid-Elsie High School) in 56th-place (28:37.20), junior Chad Kaiser (Lachine/Alpena High School) in 60th-place (28:41.71) and sophomore Dan Kimball (National City/Oscoda High School) in 74th-place (29:10.27).
On the women's team, sophomore Rebecca Dawson (Williamsburg/Elk Rapids High School) led the way with a time of 22:30.00). She was followed by sophomore Rachel Strelecki (Sterling/Standish-Sterling High School) in 23:24.81 and senior Larissa Kequom (Charlotte High School) in 27:11.27.
In addition and not counting to the men's team score, junior Kevin Kreh (Kinde/Huron High School) finished in 30:49.30, freshman Jardon Stuchell (Jonesville High School) in 31:44.61, sophomore Mauricio Palli (Bloomington, Ill./Glenbard Twp. High School) in 32:02.90, sophomore Ryan Newberry (South Haven High School) in 34:25.71, sophomore Shawn Parker (Inkster/John Glenn High School) in 35:01.74 and senior Dave Bishop (Algonac High School) in 35:39.26.
The Comets are idle until Sept. 27 when they run at the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association jamboree. The meet is being hosted by Adrian College, and starts at 11 a.m.
