Cross Country ends season at NCAA Great Lakes Regional Meet
The Olivet College men’s and women’s cross country teams wrapped up their season today by running in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Meet hosted by Hanover (Ind.) College.
The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up their season today by running in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Meet hosted by Hanover (Ind.) College.
The Fighting Comets finished in 23rd-place out of 32 schools. Leading the way for Olivet was junior Robert Dodson (Elsie/Ovid-Elsie High School), who finished in 90th place and covered the 8K course in 28:04. There were 225 men competing in the men's race.
He was followed by sophomore Jeremy Shephard (Kalamazoo/Mattawan High School) in 28:20, sophomore Jeremy Van Loon (Ravenna/Grant High School) in 28:30, sophomore Andrew Lapham (South Lyon High School) in 29:12 and junior Chad Kaiser (Lachine/Alpena High School) in 29:40. Junior Kevin Kreh (Kinde/Huron High School) and sophomore Mauricio Palli (Bloomington, Ill./Glenbard Twp. High School) also competed, but their placements did not factor in the team score. Kreh and Palli finished the race in 30:19 and 30:26, respectively.
The Lady Comets placed 33rd. Sophomore Rebecca Dawson (Williamsburg/Elk Rapids High School) paced the team with a time of 25:33 on the 6K course. Following her were freshman Jessica Pletz (Lake/Farwell High School) in 26:50, sophomore Rachel Strelecki (Sterling/Standish-Sterling High School) in 28:39, freshman Mehgan Sanson (Brown City High School) in 28:39 and senior Larissa Kequom (Charlotte High School) in 31:20.
