Cross country teams run at MIAA Jamboree
The Olivet College men’s and women’s cross country teams participated in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree today, which was hosted by Tri-State (Ind.) University.
The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams participated in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree today, which was hosted by Tri-State (Ind.) University.
For the men, junior Daniel Slocum (Potterville) was the Comets' highest finisher, covering the 8K course in 31:47. Sophomore Thomas Giles (Gobles) was next at 32:54. The rest of the Olivet men and their times were junior Greg Jarratt (Centreville), 36:03; sophomore Josh Osborne (Mancelona), 36:40; senior Brian Jaffee (Bowling Green, Ohio), 40:57; and freshman Alex Braner (Belmond, Iowa/Marshall), 41:20.
Junior Amy Johnson (Gaylord) was the top Olivet women's finisher. She clocked-in at 23:10. Senior Jessica Petkus (Milford) covered the course in 23:11, followed by junior Anna Braner (Belmond, Iowa/Marshall), 24:36; junior Jessica Woods (Climax/Climax-Scotts), 24:42; freshman Veronica Maidens (Arcadia/Onekama), 24:58; freshman Alisha Fisher (Battle Creek/Lakeview), 25:01; and junior Kacie Rosecrants (Parma/Western), 25:41.
Olivet's next meet is Friday, Sept. 28, when it runs at the Lansing Community College Invitational at Grand Woods Park in Lansing. The women's race will get under way at 4:30 p.m., followed by the men's race at 5 p.m.
