Cross country teams run at Calvin Knight Invitational

The Olivet College cross country teams ran at the Calvin College Knight Invitational Saturday morning in Grand Rapids.

The top finisher for the Comet men was junior Jordan Dornan, who completed the 8K race in 28:01.1. The other Olivet runners competing were freshman Brock Hubbard (Battle Creek/Harper Creek), 30:27.7; junior Serafin Llerena (Bangor), 31:58.4; sophomore Tom Sobleskey (Olivet), 32:14.6; freshman Brandon Vaughn (Charlotte/Maple Valley), 33:56.7; and sophomore Alex Johnson (Atlantic Mine/Houghton), 34:00.3.

The Comet women were led by sophomore Brittany Marshall (Canton, Ga./Woodstock), as she covered the 5K race in 21:26.4. She was followed by freshman Kayla Green (Mason), 24:20.2; freshman Autumn Williams (Albion/Marshall), 24:23.3 and senior Christine Cameron (Elkhart, Ind./Concord), 26:59.3.

Olivet will compete at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree next Saturday, Sept. 26. Hope College is hosting the meet at the Ridge Point Community Church in Holland. The women's race will start at 11 a.m., followed by the men's race at noon.
