Women's cross country team runs at MIAA Championships
The Olivet College women's cross country team finished in ninth-place today at the 2010 MIAA Championships.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Olivet College women's cross country team women's cross country team finished in ninth-place today at the 2010 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships. Calvin College hosted the meet on its home course at the Gainey Athletic Facility in Grand Rapids.
Olivet was led by freshman Anna Krausz (Lyons/Portland). She completed the 6K course in 25:24.5. Junior Brittany Marshall (Canton, Ga./Woodstock) was next in 26:34.4, followed by sophomore Abbey Leightner (Jackson/Western) in 27:32.1.
"We are continuing to improve each meet and had some personal best times today," said Olivet Head Women's Coach Karen Lutzke. "Our younger athletes are getting valuable experience in their first year of collegiate cross country. Anna (Krausz) has been getting stronger each meet, and Abbey (Leightner) stepped up and competed well today."
The Comets will now be off for two weeks and compete at the 2010 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Saturday, Nov. 13, at Hope.
