Women’s cross country team places ninth at MIAA Championships
The Olivet College women’s cross country team finished in ninth-place at the 2012 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships. Albion College hosted the 6K race at the Whiffle Tree Hill Golf Club in Concord.
CONCORD, Mich. – The Olivet College women's cross country team finished in ninth-place at the 2012 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships. Albion College hosted the 6K race at the Whiffle Tree Hill Golf Club in Concord.
Calvin successfully defended its conference title with a first-place finish. Sophomore Lane Duckworth (Bellevue) was the first Comet to cross the finish line, as she finished the race in 27:02. Senior Crystal Ramon (Marshall) was less than 30 seconds behind her in 27:31.
Freshmen Charlene MacKenzie (Albion) and Danielle Marsh (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) completed the race in 28:07 and 29:01, respectively. Sophomore Hayley Drummond (Williamston) was a second behind Marsh in 29:02.
Olivet is off for two weeks and will compete Nov. 10 at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional, hosted by Anderson (Ind.) University.
