Cross country teams finish in 33rd-place at NCAA Regional
The Olivet College men’s and women’s cross country teams both finished in 33rd-place at the 2012 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional, hosted by Anderson University at the Yule Golf Course in Alexandria, Indiana.
ALEXANDRIA, Ind. – The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams both finished in 33rd-place at the 2012 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional, hosted by Anderson University at the Yule Golf Course in Alexandria, Indiana.
The top three women for the Comets crossed the line right after each other. Freshmen Charlene MacKenzie (Albion) finished the 6K race in a season-best time of 27:41.36. Sophomore Lane Duckworth (Bellevue) was next in 27:41.95, followed by senior Crystal Ramon (Marshall) in 27:51.42. Sophomore Hayley Drummond (Williamston) ran the race in a season-best time of 28:50.81.
For the men, freshman Austin Thimler-Coffman (Tekonsha/Union City) completed the 8K race in 26:48.84 to finish in 84th-place among 256 runners. Sophomore Andrew Benkovsky (Eaton Rapids) was next in 28:18.43. Junior Connor Plagens (South Lyon) covered the course in 29:07.07, followed by freshman Tyler Britten (Mendon) in 29:10.17, senior Tom Sobleskey (Olivet) in 29:13.48 and sophomore Jalen Weaver (Albion) in 31:18.20.
