Dean Trailways Comets of the Week - April 4, 2022 - Part 2 of 2

The third Dean Trailways Male Comet of the Week is junior Chase Mendham, of Coopersville, and graduate of Coopersville High School. At the 2022 Olivet College Triangular, Mendham won the 3,000-meter run in a school-record time of 8:56.64. The previous record was 8:57.14 by Bruce Baker on April 13, 2018. Mendham also placed second in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:18.65.

The Dean Trailways Female Comet of the Week is senior Kaylee Richardson, of Charlotte, and graduate of Olivet High School. Competing at the 2022 Olivet College Triangular, Richardson posted two personal-best outdoor times. She completed the 1,500-meter run in 5:28.06 and later in the meet finished the 3,000-meter run in 11:54.45. Richardson dropped more than five seconds off her previous best in the 1,500 and nearly 50 seconds off her previous best in the 3,000.
