The Olivet College men’s soccer team came back from a 3-1 halftime deficit to defeat Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Kalamazoo College, 4-3, today in Kalamazoo.

The Olivet College men's soccer team came back from a 3-1 halftime deficit to defeat Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Kalamazoo College, 4-3, today in Kalamazoo.
The Hornets (7-8-1, 6-4-0 MIAA) jumped out to a 2-0 lead behind goals in the 28th and 33rd minute. Freshman Kevin Hagan (East Lansing) got the Comets (6-9-1, 5-4-1 MIAA) scoreboard in the 40th minute. Freshman Mike Smith (Okemos) earned the assist on the goal. Kalamazoo added a goal with less than three minutes left before halftime.
Olivet scored its three second half goals in a span of seven minutes, 24 seconds. In the 72nd minute, Hagan scored the first goal off a pass from freshman Graham Lockwood (Haslett/Willimston). Sophomore Alan Holdorf (Novi) tied the game at 3-3 in the 76th minute. Hagan was credited with an assist. Lockwood fed junior Trent Bronsink (Byron Center/South Christian) for the game-winner in the 79th minute.
The Comets finished the game with a 21-19 edge in shots. Hagan led the way with six shots, followed by Holdorf and freshman Justin Loveless (Mason) with three apiece. In goal, senior Will Drogt (Kewadin/Elk Rapids) played the entire game and made two saves.
Olivet returns to the field Tuesday, Oct. 25, for a 4 p.m. game at Hope College.
