Olivet College juniors Jason Brew (Sparta) and Kyle Vanderhyde (Sparta) have advanced to Saturday morning's semifinals at the 2008 NCAA Division III Wrestling National Championships at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Two of three Olivet College wrestlers competing at the 2008 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships Friday and Saturday, March 7-8, have been seeded. Junior Jason Brew (Sparta) has received the No. 2 seed at 157 pounds, while junior Kyle Vanderhyde (Sparta) is the No. 3 seed at 174 pounds.
The Olivet College wrestling team crowned three championships en route to a second-place finish (out of 12 schools) today at the 2008 NCAA Division III Midwest Regional, which was hosted by Wabash (Ind.) College. All 10 Comets placed in the top six, and they totaled 140 points, which was 51 points behind Delaware Valley (Pa.) College.
