Albaugh wins shot put for third straight year, women’s indoor track and field team finishes seventh at MIAA Championships
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College women’s indoor track and field team placed seventh at the 2021 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships, hosted by Calvin University and at the Huizenga Track & Tennis Center. The Comets had 20 points. Hope College edged Trine (Ind.) University to win the MIAA title by nine points, 183-174.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College women's indoor track and field team placed seventh at the 2021 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships, hosted by Calvin University and at the Huizenga Track & Tennis Center. The Comets had 20 points. Hope College edged Trine (Ind.) University to win the MIAA title by nine points, 183-174.
- Junior Lillian Albaugh won the shot put with a mark of 43 feet and 7-1/4 inches. She is now a four-time MIAA shot put champion (2019, 2020, 2021 indoor, and 2019 outdoor). Today's performance beat the runner-up finisher by more than five feet and moves her up to 10th on the NCAA DIII Performance List, according to TFRRS.org.
- Sophomore Gabby Jolliff was part of a five-way tie for third-place in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 8 feet and 6-1/4 inches. She also shared sixth-place in the high jump with a season-best mark of 4 feet and 9-3/4 inches.
- Season-best performances were turned in by:
- Savanna Baughan: 60-meter dash (9.68)
- Alex DeVault: 60-meter dash (8.61) and 200-meter dash (28.91)
- Abbey Johnston: 60-meter dash (9.38)
- Kaylee Richardson: 800-meter run (2:48.76)
- Taylor Wilsey: long jump (14 feet, 11.25")
- In light of the cancellation of the 2021 NCAA Division III winter championships, Wartburg (Iowa) College is hosting the 2021 Division III Elite Indoor Championships next Friday-Saturday, March 12-13 at Hoover Fieldhouse in Waverly, Iowa. The top-16 individual and top-12 relay performances, according to TFRRRS.org will be invited to compete in the meet.
