UOlivet cross country teams place seventh at Calvin Knight Invite

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's and women's cross country teams placed seventh today at the 20th Annual Calvin University Knight Invite.
THE BASICS
- Location: Gainey Athletic Complex; Grand Rapids, Michigan
FOR THE WOMEN
- The Olivet women recorded 193 points. Grand Valley also won the women's title with 26 points.
- Freshman Landry Gomez had the best finish, as she covered the 6K course in 26:25.6 to place 45th of 82 runners.
- Junior Aubrey Connelly recorded the next-fastest time at 27:03.9.
- Freshman Abby Dice and senior Jamie Stiver were separated by little more than one second at 27:51.8 and 27:52.9, respectively.
FOR THE MEN
- The Comet men had 229 points to finish ahead of Albion College (240) and Alma College (245). Grand Valley State University took first with 22 points.
- Sophomore Luke Senters was the top finisher, as he placed 63rd of 136 runners. He completed the 8K course in 28:35.4.
- Junior Brenden Castillo was next at 28:40.3.
- Freshman Owen Lambarth posted a time of 29:47.1.
- Junior Sam Bruinsma clocked-in at 30:04.7.
UP NEXT
- The Comets are off until Saturday, October 18, when they compete at the Oberlin (Ohio) College Inter-Regional Rumble. The first race starts at 10:30 a.m.
