Dean Trailways Male Comets of the Week - February 28, 2022

The first Dean Trailways Comet of the Week is the distance medley relay team of sophomore Hayden Germain, of Pewamo, and graduate of Pewamo-Westphalia High School, sophomore Hunter Hillard, of Charlotte, and graduate of Charlotte High School, junior Chase Mendham, of Coopersville, and graduate of Coopersville High School and junior Zac Schneck, of Rochester Hills, and graduate of Rochester High School. The quartet won the race with a winning time of 10:45.63 at the 2022 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Indoor Track & Field Championship. 

The second Dean Trailways Male Comet of the Week is sophomore Donovan King, of Detroit, and graduate of Farmington High School. King finished second in the 285-pound bracket at the NCAA Division III Central Regional to secure a trip to the 2022 NCAA Division III Championship. He posted a 3-1 record. Two of his wins were first-period pins at 49 seconds and 1:55. The third win in the semifinals was a 6-4 overtime decision. King’s lone loss was a 2-1 decision to the top-seeded wrestler.
