The Olivet College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams have been named to the 2007-08 College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Academic All-American team. In addition, sophomore Kellen Beckwith (Farmington Hills/North Farmington) and graduates Dustin Meisner (Temperance/Erie Mason) and Courtney Mich (Bay City/Western) have earned the CSCAA Individual Academic All-American Award.
Ninety-two Olivet College student-athletes have been named to the 2007-08 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Academic (MIAA) Honor Roll.
Five Olivet College teams have received the 2007-08 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) team GPA award. This award is presented to conference teams who achieve a 3.300 or better grade point average for the entire academic year.
The Olivet College women’s swimming and diving team placed fourth at the 2008 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships at the Holland Aquatic Center. The Comets tallied 237 points and were only 19 points behind third-place Kalamazoo College. Calvin College was crowned the league champion with 660 points.

The men had 623 points to finish behind the host Tigers, who had 920 points. The women collected 405 points, only 10 points behind third-place Rhodes (Tenn.) College.
After the first day of competition at the 21st Annual DePauw University Invitational, the Olivet College men’s and women’s swimming teams stand in second and third-place, respectively. The men have tallied 318 points and are more than 100 points behind 11th-ranked DePauw, who has 452 points. The women have 218 points.
The Olivet College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams competed this weekend at the Wabash (Ind.) College/Pat Woehnker Invitational at the Class of 1950 Natatorium in Crawfordsville, Ind. The men’s team finished in fourth-place (out of nine schools) with 339 points. The women were sixth (out of nine) with 239 points.
The Olivet College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams split a dual meet with Calvin College Friday night at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti. The dual results were extracted from a quad meet with Denison (Ohio) and Wayne State Universities. The Olivet men defeated Calvin, 175-60, while the Olivet women dropped a 200-30 decision to Calvin.
