Olivet College Athletic Director Heather Bateman has announced that Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Coach Jake Taber is leaving the college to accept the head coaching position at Albion College. Taber completed his fifth season as the Comets’ head coach in 2011-12.

Olivet College swimmers preparing for possible trip to 2012 NCAA Division III National Championships

The psych sheet for the 2012 NCAA Division III National Swimming and Diving Championships March 21-24 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis has been released. Based on this document, the NCAA will then select the field that will compete at the championships. The official field will be announced Tuesday, March 6.

Olivet College senior Caitlin Lohr (Holland/Hamilton) has been named to the 2012 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) swimming and diving team. She led Comet women to a fourth-place finish at the 2012 MIAA Championships Feb. 15-18 at the Holland Community Aquatic Center.

The Olivet College women’s swimming team placed fourth at the 2012 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships, hosted by Hope College and held inside the Holland Community Aquatic Center. The finish is the highest for the Comets since 2009 when they were also fourth.

Men’s and women’s swimming teams sweep dual meet with North Central

The Olivet College men’s and women’s swimming teams swept dual meets with North Central (Ill.) College today at the International Swimming Hall of Fame Pool in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The men’s team beat the Cardinals, 120-41, while the women defeated them, 124-116. The meet was a part of the Comets’ annual training trip to the Sunshine state.
