The Olivet College women’s basketball team suffered a 77-56 loss to Aquinas College this afternoon in the second round of the 2007 Comet Classic at the Upton Center in Olivet. For her efforts in the tournament, freshman Ameina Ross (Lansing/Everett) was named to the all-tournament team.

Women’s basketball team loses season-opener to DePauw, 96-63

The Olivet College women’s basketball team opened its 2007-08 season with a 96-63 loss to the host Tigers tonight in the opening round of the DePauw (Ind.) University/Amy Hasbrook Memorial Tipoff Tournament. The Comets will play Washington (Mo.) University in the consolation game of the tournament tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m.

Men’s and women’s basketball teams picked seventh and eighth in MIAA preseason coaches’ polls

The Olivet College men's and women's basketball teams have been picked to finish seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 2007-08 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Preseason Coaches' Polls. Each coach was not allowed to vote for his/her own team. Hope College was selected as the preseason favorite in both polls.
