Seventy-nine Olivet College student-athletes have been named to the 2010-11 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) honor roll.
Olivet College’s Kellen Beckwith has been named the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America® of the Year for the College Division Men’s At-Large program. By virtue of this honor, he is also a first-team Academic All-America® selection, and teammate Michael Harden has earned third-team Academic All-America® honors.
Olivet College seniors Kellen Beckwith (Farmington Hills/North Farmington) and Mike Harden (St. Johns) have been named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-District IV at-large first-team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America.
Kellen Beckwith secured honorable mention All-America honors with a 16th-place finish in the 100 backstroke at the 2011 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships.
For the second consecutive year, senior Kellen Beckwith has received the prestigious Elite 88 award for men’s swimming and diving from the NCAA. He was presented with the award tonight at the championships banquet.
Kellen Beckwith, Rafe Maxwell, Joel Knight and Cody Sanders have been named to the 2011 All-MIAA Men's Swimming and Diving team. They helped the Comets finish in third-place at the 2011 MIAA Championships Feb. 17-19 at the Jenison High School Aquatic Center.
The men's swimming and diving team finished in third-place at the 2011 MIAA Championships. The three-day meet was hosted by Olivet and Albion at the Jenison High School Aquatics Center. The Comets scored 672 points, which was 103 points behind second-place Hope. Kalamazoo won the championship with 815 points
The men's swimming and diving team closed out the dual meet portion of its schedule by beating Calvin, 154-131. The meet was the final home one for three seniors, Kellen Beckwith, Mike Harden and Rafe Maxwell.
